Concrete

SDC10753

Concrete is made using water, aggregates additives and cement.  The aggregates are tested everyday for cleanliness.  Clean aggregates makes better concrete.  The sand is tested every morning for moisture content as to make sure water can be cut back enough to ensure a 75mm slump at all times unless otherwise requested.

The cement used is bought in bulk and only from suppliers with the quality mark and ISO 9001 as to ensure the highest quality.  There are several cubes made from different loads of concrete each day and cured for 28 days, they are then crushed to ensure the crushable strength is equal to the strength requested by the customer.

Stone

Stone is tested twice a day to ensure that it is clean.  Stone is checked everyday for its plastic content which ensures that it does not have contamination of any description for example mud or clay and that it stays within its size perimeters.

Blocks

Blocks are checked four times a day for texture, strength and shape to ensure that a 4inch block is exactly that.  Blocks are also taken away everyday and crushed to make sure they are the correct strength.
